The Rise of the Scaleup Cities in Europe

The Rise of the Scaleup Cities in Europe is about to investigate the startup ecosystems over 166 European cities, their performances regarding startups, and the access to finance and talents. This part of the research is largely quantitative and based on different data sources, such as Dealroom.co, PATSTAT, ORBIS, OECD, EUROSTAT. Special attention is paid to startups in Fintech and Industry 4.0, and in technologies such as Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Another pillar of this project is to investigate those institutions (incubators, accelerators, business organisations) which could support and enhance the startup performance of the European cities. To better understand how these institutions work, we regularly organise study trips to the most important ecosystems in Europe.
