Students and faculty members from Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) recently represented the institution at the 54th Eurasia Business and Economics Society (EBES) Conference. The delegation, consisting of seven talented students and Professor Zoltán Cséfalvay, showcased a diverse range of research focusing on Europe’s economic dynamics, technological shifts, and geopolitical trends.

The academic program featured a series of high-level presentations from the group:

  • Gellért Banai: "Government Family Policies’ Effects on Fertility in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)"
  • Csenge Vörös: "Scaling European Health Tech: Growth Dynamics, Sub-Industry Shifts, and Ecosystem Concentration"
  • Róbert Gombási: "Discovering the AI Agent Scaleup Landscape"
  • Györk Pünkösti: "The Dynamics of Scale-Up Growth: A Structural and Systemic Analysis"

  • Zsolt Sántha: "Harvesting Value: Business Model Innovation and Performance in European Agriculture Technology Startups"
  • Marcell Kovács: "New Wave of Techno-Nationalism? Case of TSMC’s U.S. Investment Phases"

Beyond the conference halls, the trip provided a unique opportunity for international professional networking. On the day preceding the event, the delegation visited the OECD headquarters for a professional consultation. The students met with Nikolas Schmidt, a member of the Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Digital Technologies Division, gaining first-hand insights into the global regulatory challenges and policy-making processes surrounding emerging technologies.

This successful participation in Paris underscores MCC’s commitment to fostering an international academic presence and providing students with the platform to contribute to global scientific discourse at the highest level.
