The Centre for Next Technological Futures, part of the well-known MCC think tank, has recently joined the prestigious Global Trade and Innovation Policy Alliance (GTIPA). This move will allow the Centre to collaborate with nearly fifty other economic research institutes and think tanks from all around the world.
The GTIPA is a global network of independent think tanks that share the common goal of advocating for greater global trade liberalization and integration. They are strongly against trade-distorting "innovation mercantilist" practices, while still believing that governments can play an important role in spurring innovation and productivity in their economies.
As a member of the GTIPA, the Centre for Next Technological Futures will have the opportunity to internationalize its research in areas such as innovation economics, the digital economy, and startup ecosystems. The membership will also provide new research opportunities for students
Through this membership, the Centre for Next Technological Futures will be able to collaborate on events, research, and reports with other member organizations. This will allow for a sharing of ideas and cross-pollination of research on trade, globalization, and innovation policy. The Alliance is founded on a shared statement of principles, ensuring that all members adhere to research and policies that are consistent with these principles.
The MCC is thrilled to be part of this global network of like-minded think tanks and looks forward to collaborating with other members to drive innovation and productivity in the global economy.
